The face also has functions that are all controlled by a single crown and it has vaguely luminescent markings - this then avoids side-buttons from cluttering your watch. Though some Bell & Ross watches have features rather more specific to their missions-such as the anti-magnetic timepiece for bomb-disposal experts -the aviation watch functions are ones any earthbound citizen would find helpful.
The weight of the watch, however, is such that it is a wonder pilots can wear it: hit 9 Gs at Mach 2 and you might find the watch, and your wrist with it, plastered to the canopy of your Mirage.
